How should I know?

I've been doing university things and not noise things. Unfortunate, probably a bad call, but here I am. That being said, I am doing a split with Ragk from....I don't know where he's from, but he's cool, and I'm doing a split with him. I'm also doing a lot of noisecore related things, playing in a band called Fuckworld (watch out for an upcoming split on that front, with Jx Nahash's project Uv Ursa Spr), and curating a noisecore compilation. Considering mixing up my pedal setup and all that stuff. Start new, whatever. I will see what I come up with for this split and it may be indicative of where this project goes sonically in the future. Always noise, but nothing past that. Fuck off and live.

Where am I/Where Have I Been

It has been too long. I have been focusing on other projects, and I've been on tour(s) with various bands for the past two and a half weeks. Thus, I have been unable to work on SP material, and things have been slow in this regard. Naturally. I hope to finish another release of some kind before I move to toronto on august 25th. As for new material, I have a track called "think straight" on Julien's new comp, "Synaptic Static". It can be heard at http://staticpark.bandcamp.com/album/static-park-presents-synaptic-static-compilation . I'm very honored to appear on this comp, both in that Julien asked me and that I get to appear next to artists such as Angel of Mercy and Poete Maudit. I hope to be more active in noise again in the coming days and weeks, we'll see how that goes. Staying stoked, one day at a time.

Sled in two days/HNWALTZ

MY SLED SHOW IS IN TWO DAYS! I'm opening for Oneohtrix Point fucking Never and Sarah Davachi. Couldn't be more stoked. I've fully prepared my set, should be interesting, I'm looking forward to finding out what people's reactions are/will be. As for merch, I will have copies of the 4 way split as well as copies of the health//sanity release. I'll also have copies of Harsh Noise Waltz, the comp that I curated, which became available digitally on aught void a few days ago. So the c60 tape that i said was going to be called asceticism turned out to be totally different than i thought it was going to be. thus i've renamed it "health//sanity". Three tracks per side, approximately sixty minutes of drone, hnw and the like. It is available for free/pwyw download on my bandcamp, let me know what you think about it. Gearing up for the sled show, getting pretty stoked, it's going to rule. The h//s tapes, as well as the HNW comp, will constitute my "merchandise" for that event. Yup! I'm still here. Still selling fake doors. Here's the news:

- I did a netsplit with Black Matter Phantasm and Dao de Noize, on Nahash Atrym Productions out of France. Three long harsh noise walls. My track is called "Employees and Consumers", and it won't be featured on my personal bandcamp, so check it out on the label's page. This is one of my recent forays into the HNW area, and I love it, and will continue to do it. On that note, I also recommend that you check out the split between Angel of Mercy and BMP, as it rules. - I'm working on a C60 tape, called "Asceticism". 60 minutes of hyper minimalist tape manipulation and field recordings. Not harsh. Sorry. Will be available in time for my sled set.

- The aforementioned Harsh Noise Waltz comp that I'm curating will also be ready in time for the sled show (the almighty willing). Looking to be a really sweet compilation, get excited (actually) for this one. Will post details when I feel like it. Watch the skies.

Also, I'm playing a Calgary show for National Drone Day at Oolong tea house in Calgary. This will be a quieter, non-abrasive show, and I'll be playing some introspective drones. Stoked to be playing with all my pals (Pinery, Moss Harvest, downfuckinghill, coma cult, and pedro monkeyfinger). It should be an amazing time!

I should also announce that I'm doing a split with Poete Maudit (sorry man, I can't find an accent) from Michigan. I`ve now made an appearance on the previously mentioned confusion and violence split series. Instead of being on a 3 way split I ended up being on a 5 way split with Insideout028, Patrick Harshings, SxRxT and Severed Fingers. I`m really stoked on how all of this turned out, and you should definitely check out all the tracks on the split. I also made the art for this endeavor, let me know what you think of everything, if you feel like it.

The SEXXXLESS/NOFUCKINGSEXXX tapes are available to order, and the track(s) themselves are available to stream on my bandcamp. I said I wasn't going to post them but I changed my mind. In other news, it has been confirmed that I'm doing a four way split with Moss Harvest, Black Matter Phantasm and ✰☻★☺✰. Harsh noise wall from all parties, should be interesting. I'm also doing a three way split, with Patrcksk Harsh and one other yet-to-be-identified assailant. This latter split will be part of TRASHFUCK records new "Confusion and Violence" split series. It's one of those things where the artists are supposed to make their own copies, and I probably won't make any, so it'll all be sweet and seemingly non-existent. Watch out for all of these things, and try to stay stoked.

I've received the tapes and the artwork for the SEXXXLESS/NOFUCKINGSEXXX tapes, just have to dub them and assemble them now. Should be good. I'm looking at doing a small run of CDRs or tapes for the It Was Found Underneath album, we'll see about that. Getting things duplicated is extremely expensive. I'm thinking of working on another HNW piece next, something I want to get better at...exciting things are happening with my label, but I can't go into detail just yet, too up in the air.


In other news, my friend Mark played an incredibly rad set at Emmedia in Calgary a few weeks ago, and luckily it got filmed, so you can enjoy it too! He tangles up all his cords and drops everything and it's fucking chaotic and sweet. I want to play shows like this!

RELEASES AND IDEAS AND SPLITS? AND LABELS AND ALBUMS

I've been doing this Starr party project since last July....there have been long periods of nothing, and short periods of lots and lots of stuff. Since last July, I've put out two splits and four albums, none of which have been physically released as of yet. These include:

- My first release, which was a netsplit with Lienullnoyz from the UK. I've been listening to and loving with Richard Wilmer has done and is doing musically forever, and it was sweet do a split with him under this moniker. Two tracks each, one long and one short.

- A split with Redsk, which was supposed to be released on tapes and CDRs, but which never actually got released because Redsk shut down his TRASHFUCK label before he got to it. Unfortunate. Still, I'm really stoked to have done even a hypothetical split with him. One 14:05 track each.

- "Men as Friends 1 & 2". Two songs about exactly what the title says. I sent this to Placenta in the hopes that they would put it out, and months later they told me that they never got it, so I sent it to them again. We'll see what happens.

- "The Divers and the Men at Sea". Five unrelated tracks. Songs about nothing. Released on the aReW netlabel, actually got listened to by a few people. Too sweet!

- "The Losers of The Arms Race Proclaim". Four unrelated tracks. Two three or four minute ones and two longer ones. Hoping to have this released on aReW as well.

- "It Was Found Underneath". One handed improvisations with Electroplankton and a monotron. Surprisingly some of the best stuff i've come up with....hmm. Looking for someone to put this out. We will see.

All of this having been put out there (atleast on my bandcamp), I'm still writing lots of new material, and trying to focus more on what I'm doing. I feel like i'm in a worse state than I was, in a lot of ways, and so I want that to be reflected. The previously mentioned releases aside, I have two things planned for the future as of now:

- A split tape(s) with Methlab Explosion. Fucking amazing harsh noise guy. The release will consist of two C20 cassettes packaged in double jewel cases (sweet!). First tape is a regular split, one ten minute track each, and second tape is remixes by each other of each other. Being put out (really!) on Aught Void and Halloween Quest. Too fucking stoked for this one.

- A C122 tape (really.) entitled "sexxxless//noFUCKINGsexxx". Harsh noise wall and long samples, going to sound substantially different from what I've released up until now. No more fucking electroplankton soft keys and no more casio keyboards. We'll see if it works out, maybe it will suck. I hope not. Edition of like 10 or 15 tapes, self released.

All of this will happen and it will all be sweet. I am excited and motivated. Let's fucking see what happens!
